SEO Success Story: Worldwide-Accom

Here’s how our search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (paid search) services worked for our client Worldwide Accom.

The Challenge

Our client, Worldwide Accom rents several hundred, short term holiday apartments, villas, B&B’s and cottages in Italy, France and the United Kingdom. Their original business, Italy-Accom, used seven domains to promote the accommodation properties all over Italy; however their new site (2011) was to branch into France and the United Kingdom. The challenge was to retain both the traffic and sales that White Chalk Road had already built for them over the years while moving the business to a new domain.

  • The new domain, www.worldwide-accom.com would cover all of their planned territories, rather than have a different website for each area, it would use sub-domains for countries.
  • As a new domain, Worldwide-Accom would be perceived as new global player in the accommodation field, and it therefore would have to compete in one of the toughest online markets on the planet.
  • Worldwide-Accom was to go live a mere two weeks (late December 2011) before the peak season commenced instead of the originally planned 3 months prior due to delays in rewriting the backend by their new UK based designer.

White Chalk Road Results

In just over 2 months, we were able to achieve page one results in Google for 9 of Worldwide-Accom’s most valuable and difficult keywords and kept their online sales on par with the previous peak season figures. Their website traffic is significantly increasing through natural search rankings each month, and already their traffic has surpassed the figures from their most popular domains last year.

Using Google Adwords to promote the new territories (France in particular), we have been able to encourage more bookings than would have been possible for a new domain in the accommodation market. While there was an slightly increased spend in paid search in the first two months, which was budgeted for, the results are already positive with non-paid traffic responsible for 80% of the bookings taken through the website in February 2011. So far in March 2011 their ROI has never been better.
