SEO Success Story: VIVA Photography

Here’s how our search engine optimisation (SEO) and paid search (Google Adwords) services worked for our client Viva Photography, a successful franchise group in Australia.

The Challenges

Viva is a successful photography franchise that operates Australia-wide, with a team of dedicated staff who are passionate about capturing life’s most treasured moments.  Before engaging our services, the team at Viva faced these challenges:

  • It was difficult to promote all franchise territories equally with traditional advertising.
  • The VIVA website wasn’t SEO friendly. It lacked a clear structure and purpose, content and content management tools.
  • The website was not appearing in the natural search engine result listings (e.g. Google) for a number of keyword phrases. This mean the team at VIVA were relying heavily on offline marketing without getting an acceptable number of online leads.
  • The majority of WA consumers didn’t seem to understand the benefits of professional photography compared to amateur home snapshots.

We helped Viva to find a flexible content management system that would allow them to regularly update the content on their site. We helped to restructure their site’s information architecture which created a better looking and easier-to-use website.

As part of the website restructure, franchisee information was added, which helped Google search by location. We also made sure all franchise locations could be easily found in local search such as Google Places (i.e. Google Maps).

In just 12 months, we were able to increase VIVA’s online search visibility by more than 50%. We increased the amount of website traffic they received through natural search rankings and Google AdWords management, and continue to work with them to achieve even more online.
