When engaging in new SEO activities for your website, business listings that are search engine optimised are one of the more user friendly steps in enticing a customer to click through to your website. They can display reviews, maps and photographs of your business, all designed to help your customer make a better decision while browsing. One of the best business listing tools for SEO has made a recent change that both existing and new customers should take advantage of.
Google has announced that they are taking Street View one step further: Inside your business.
Much like the street views on Google Places (Maps), this new product with enable searchers to ‘enter’ your store from the map, and take a virtual browse. As with all Google products, it is free, however due to huge demand, you will want to sign up quickly! They are currently in most Australian capital cities, so register your business and a rep will contact you for a session time.
Displaying an average of around 12 photos from each store, this new service allows searchers to see what your business will look like on a normal day.
What about my privacy?
As this is an opt-in service, a photographer will not show up unless requested, you can also upload your own photos to this product yourself through Google Places. Faces of customers and staff will be blurred, as with Street View, and you can remove any photos that aren’t suitable.
What if my layout or store changes dramatically?
Wait until your renovations are complete before opting in, also, Google promises it will make its best effort to re-photograph a store on request after a major change.
Who owns the copyright to the photos?
Google retains ownership of the photos, however you can request them to be removed from your listing, and replace with your own.
